Route description: From the car park at the foot of Vardefjell, you walk down a wide path and across the bridge that has been placed over the stream here. You then come to a mire where boards have been laid out for you to cross. You pass two small round tarns on your left-hand side, and when you are level with the innermost tarn you leave the prominent path and walk in a south-westerly direction towards the electricity pylons on your right. You cross a small mire and walk up onto a small knoll. From here, the path runs parallel to the high-voltage pylons for a short stretch, until you reach a round tarn on your left where the path turns towards the pylons again. You pass a mire on your left and cross beneath the power lines just as you begin the 100-metre ascent towards the summit.
Follow the cairns up the mountainside. You have a great view of Ovedal on the way up. At the top you will come to a small tarn on your right-hand side, and the magnificent summit cairn is located right by this tarn. Allow about 30 minutes from the car park to the summit. If you want to take an alternative route down, you can walk northwest until you reach the viewpoint where you look down towards Øksendal, and then walk around the northern side of the mountain back to the masts and the path you came up.
