Route description:
The first part of the route goes up the steep forest track that winds its way up the mountainside at Lindeland. Allow 20 minutes for the approx. 200-metre ascent to the end of the forest track. At approx. 400 metres above sea level, the forest track turns into a cart track; follow this until you reach a signposted trail junction. Turn left and follow the marked trail towards Midtstøl uphill (southerly direction). After about 10 minutes, the path turns west, then south-west, so that you are walking parallel to the ravine on your left. The path here alternates between grass and rock, and stone walls from former times can be clearly seen along the trail. After about 20 minutes' walk, the path splits; you should continue on the marked trail towards Midtstøl up towards a small mound. Here you will reach an old stone fence and you leave the trail towards Midtstøl and head north-west, initially in an arc to the right, to avoid the steep rock edges in the valley depression 150 metres further ahead. Havsyn can be seen on your left, and the trick is to find your own way upwards in a north-west direction among rocks, heather and small bushes. You will see Midtstøl and the tarns there on your left, and you should allow about 40 minutes for the 200-metre ascent to the summit. From the summit, you have a 360-degree view of the Sirdal mountains and all the way to the coast!
