Støle Tourist Cabin

Route description:
From the cabin you walk in a north-easterly direction through Øyestøldalen to Øyestøl. Further through a narrow gorge called Indre Trongane. Here it looks impassable at first glance, but there is an excellent stone-paved drover's road through the gorge. At the end of the gorge the valley opens up, you pass a trail junction, where you continue straight ahead across Flæet (a flat area). As you reach the heimre Trongane (another narrow valley/gorge), the terrain becomes somewhat more undulating, before the landscape opens up again at the end of the gorge. Walk on the upper side of the mound marked with Brudle on the map. Brudler are stones laid in a long row in connection with old wedding traditions, where the bridal procession walked on foot to the wedding farm. Once the farm could finally be seen, the bride and groom laid down two large stones, and each guest then followed with smaller stones in a row behind. Many such Brudle can be found in Sirdal. Continue down the pass to Indra Grunnetjødn, from here you follow Skredåne through Skredådalen to Skredå.
