The walk starts from Tomannsbu mountain lodge.

Route description:
From Tomannsbu, you follow the path heading in a south-westerly direction along Djupevatnet and then Kilen and Vassvollvatn. Both along Kilen and Vassvollvatn you are challenged by having to pass smooth-scoured rock sloping down towards the lakes. At the south-westerly end of Vassvollvatn, you cross a stream; from here the path goes up a gentle notch in a south-easterly direction and further down parallel to a regulated stream bed and then down to a small tarn. Follow the tarn which you now have on your left-hand side, and cross the stream flowing out of it. You will then cross a small notch with a lot of scrub. Where the path splits, take a right so that you come down to a tarn just below Blåfjell. At the end of the tarn, you cross the stream running down to Ytra Skredåvatn. You are now to walk on the east side of a small hill alongside Ytra Skredåvatnet. Cross the stream coming down from Blåfjelldalen, and walk up the notch on the west side of Møestrond. There is an easy ascent to 725 metres, before you walk down a steeper notch on the other side. Avoid the steep sloping bedrock on this descent as well. At the bottom of the U-shaped valley you come to a path junction; from here the path heads in a south-westerly direction through a narrow gorge. Even though it looks impassable, an excellent old drovers' road runs here. Once you have walked through the gorge you come to Øyestøldalen. Stølehytten is situated at the end of this valley.
