Blåfjellenden to Hunnedalen

Startsted
The walk starts at Blåfjellenden mountain cabin.

Route description:
From Blåfjellenden tourist cabin, follow the signposted path in a south-easterly direction towards Hunnedalen. After just five minutes, you begin the well 200-metre ascent to 820 metres above sea level (allow approx. 45 minutes). At the top of the pass, the path crosses to the left-hand side of a mire; look out for the planks laid out along the mire. You pass between two tarns on stepping stones that have been laid out so that you can easily continue.
The landscape is very undulating and monotonous, and there is not much other than tarns to navigate by. Continue in a south-easterly direction past a trail junction and a tarn which you will have on your left-hand side. At the end of the tarn, follow the right-hand side of the river that flows into an oblong tarn 150 metres further ahead. Follow the north-western short side of this; at the corner, turn south-eastwards along the long side of the tarn. About halfway, the path heads towards a round tarn on the right-hand side and follows the shoreline of this. At the end of both tarns, you cross a sheep fence before climbing up onto a knoll from where you can see the cabins in Hunnedalen. From here, you follow the wide track of the old route and cattle trail down to the main road in Hunnedalen (Høgaleitet).
