Most people know our cross-country skiing network, which stretches between Fidjeland to Ousdal and Tjørhom. But what do we do when there is no snow? Waterskiing! No, not yet anyway.
Sirdalsløyper was established in 2016 and grew out of Sirdalsferie. Various stakeholders, including landowners, developers and residents’ associations, joined forces to form the Sirdalsløyper cooperative. Quite simply, there was so much work involved – and it was such important work – that they felt it needed its own dedicated organisation.
Today, Sirdalsløyper consists of shareholders who together form the cooperative. The money we bring in is used for the maintenance and further development of the trail network. Drainage work is carried out, gravel is laid, and trees and rocks that could cause trouble for our machines are removed. However, we do not only work with ski trails. We have a strong desire to establish better cycle paths, hiking trails, maps and signposting for these!
We receive funds through membership fees, trail contributions, sponsors, applications to the municipality, or quite simply when you Vipps us! In addition, it is possible to donate your bottle deposit receipt at GP to Sirdalsløyper; just let them know at the checkout and they will sort it out.
