Sirdalsferie AS, the organiser of Sirdalsdagane, has chosen to hold Sirdalsdagane 2021 with a new twist in order to comply with the Covid-19 restrictions that apply to events.
Time to think afresh
– Now is the time to think afresh, so that we can gather and take part in the good old traditions surrounding the sheep gathering in a safe and exciting way, says an enthusiastic Solveig Marie Ådneram, project manager and general manager of Sirdalsferie.
– The solution is to create an 8 km route where you can enjoy a great atmosphere and food, while greeting people you know. The route runs from Sirdal Resort and Tjørhomfjellet in the south, to Sirdal Mountain Museum at Kvæven in the north.
Stands with fun activities will be set up all along the route, and people are free to cycle, walk or drive.
We recommend visitors to take a trip out in the fresh air, but for those who prefer to drive, parking spaces have been provided along the route, as well as opportunities for a taxi.

Creative name
– We've been in a creative mood while planning Sirdalsdagane 2021.
The idea behind the name Fårspiel is that we are gearing up to be able to meet again soon
just like “in the old days”, meaning before corona. At the same time, it evokes associations with something
exciting, a bit of festivities before the party. And the word “får” [sheep/gets] is of course to tie in the sheep gathering, which is precisely what we are celebrating during the Sirdal Days.
– Now we are looking forward to bringing together both locals from Sirdal and city folk again.
