Since 1980, Sirdal ski club has placed 15 check-points around the moors.
Most are on mountain peaks. Two checkpoints have been included every year; Hilleknuten and Kvinen tourist station. Otherwise, new checkpoints are added every year and remain for three years. At each checkpoint, there is a wooden plaque with a letter on it that is changed every year. A total of 134 locations have been mountain hunter destinations, and those who have taken part have got to know the moors. And they have discovered fantastic places, gained views and overviews, experienced idyllic nooks and valleys, lovely bathing lakes and wonderful beaches.
What are you doing?
You can buy participant cards in the shops from Omlid to Suleskard, or at reception at Kvæven. There you will find which checkpoints are included this year with
map references. In addition, you receive information about how many points each checkpoint gives, and how many points you need to get a bronze, silver, and gold badge. Children aged 10 and under get double the points.
When?
The exhibition will be in place from 22 May to 26 September.
Premiering
In addition to medals for the individual year, you accumulate points year after year. A gold badge gives 3 points, silver gives 2 points and bronze 1 point. When you
have received 15 points, you get the mountain ranger statuette. After that, there are prizes awarded at various intervals. Perhaps you are mountain ranger no. 1002?
Now 1001 have participated one or more times.
We wish you good trips!
