From the parking lot by the foot of Vardefjell you can walk down a broad path and over the bridge crossing the creek. Then you will arrive at a bog, where an ad hoc boardwalk let you cross. You will then pass by two small, round ponds on your left hand and when you are parallel to the inner pond, you should leave the main path and go south-west, towards the large electric pylons on your right hand side. You will cross another small bog and walk up a small hill, from where you can walk, parallel with the power lines for a while, until you arrive at another round pond on your left hand side, where the path turn towards the power lines again. You will now pass by another bog, on your left hand, as you pass under the power lines as you begin the around 100 meter climb towards the top.
Follow the cairds up the hillside and remember to absorb the view on your way up. On the top you will se another small pond on your right hand, as well as the top cairn, right by this pond. The hike will take around 30 minutes, from the parking lot to the top and if you want to take an alternative route back, you can walk to the north west until you arrive at the vantage point overlooking Øksendal. From there, walk around the north side of the mountain back to the pylons and the path that you walked when going up.
