Start:
Start on foot or take a Taxi from Haugen Hytteutleie og Camping till you arrive at the road block in Hønedalen (3,8 km). The path starts right by the road block.
Description:
From the road block go north and after a 5-10 minutes walk you will arrive at Hønetjødn with its inviting beach, perfect for hot summer days! Continue around the ponds and turn towards the north-east, towards Hønestøl, continuing northwards up the somewhat steep Urdalsskaret. Estimate around 30 minutes to the top, until you start the descent to Finnstøl (10 minutter). Continue northwards towards Finnstøldalen, along the left side of the creek. The creek will become more prominent the further to the north you get and soon you will see the rugged tops by Svartups, as well as Jogledalen on your right hand side. By Smølpåsen you will arrive by a fenced in pasture for sheep, with a gate that allow easy passage. Remember to close the gate as you pass. After a few minutes you should arrive at a small road up towards the cabins (Smølåsen). Follow this some distance downwards until you arrive at a bridge where you can cross Joglaelven and proceed to walk up towards Sirdal Høyfjellshotell. Alternatively, you can continue straight ahead, arriving at Fidjeland Hytteutleige. On the road down to Fidjeland you should see Degdammen. This dam was built between 1968 and 1970 and has a height of about 90 meters with the top situated at 390 meters above sea level.
